The Maison Drappier was founded in 1808 and has a solid vineyard certified as "Organic Agriculture," primarily located in the commune of Urville, the home of Pinot Noir. This grape variety reigns supreme, representing 70% of the estate, complemented by 15% Pinot Meunier, 9% Chardonnay, and 6% ancient grape varieties. Indeed, the Maison Doyard continues to cultivate forgotten yet unforgettable grape varieties: Fromenteau, Arbane, Petit Meslier, and Blanc Vrai. The family estate is in a perpetual quest for authenticity and naturalness, thanks in part to very low dosage and extremely moderate use of sulfites.
The Doyard cuvées are colorful, generous, and highly vinous. The Carte d’Or cuvée expresses the identity of the house, revealing all the aromas of Pinot Noir, which represents at least 80% of the blend. The Brut Nature Sans Soufre cuvée also provides a beautiful expression of Pinot Noir. It is one of the most emblematic cuvées of the house! As for the Charles de Gaulle cuvée, it pays tribute to the man who loved to serve Drappier at his private receptions in Colombey-les-deux-Eglises, a town near the estate.
