Created in 1963 by Marc Hébrart, the estate has been managed since 1997 by his son Jean-Paul Hébrart. The vineyard now covers a little over 15 hectares spread across both banks of the Marne: Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, Avenay Val d’Or and Bisseuil on the right bank; Oiry and Chouilly, Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs, on the left bank. The vines of Domaine Marc Hébrart have an average age of 30 years. The estate cultivates two grape varieties, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and practices sustainable farming by minimizing chemical treatments. All plots are vinified separately, in oak barrels, to preserve individual identities.
The Clos Le Léon is the flagship wine of Maison Marc Hébrart. A Blanc de Blancs crafted with Chardonnay grapes sourced exclusively from a plot planted in 2008 in Dizy on the historic slopes of Champagne. Another must-try: the Cuvée Spécial Club. Quintessence of the house style, it is made from old vines aged around forty years from the terroirs of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ and Louvois. The Cuvée Rive Gauche Rive Droite is the perfect embodiment of Domaine Marc Hébrart. It combines its two exceptional terroirs: the left bank of the Marne offers Chardonnay and the right bank provides superb Pinot Noirs. Its 2015 vintage offers great complexity and beautiful harmony.
