From March 12 to 16, 2018, the Bollinger house received sommeliers, journalists and importers from all over the world to introduce them to the wines of the 2017 harvest as well as the new vintages of La Grande Année Rosé and the RD cuvée The opportunity to discover the remarkable work carried out by the wine teams of the Aÿ house in the face of a harvest that was terribly complicated.
Until mid-August, conditions were ideal and one of the best harvests of the past 20 years was expected. It only took a few days of heavy rain coupled with great heat to cause the rot to explode and go from exceptional to very complicated. By greatly increasing the teams of harvesters to move forward much faster, and by doing a lot of sorting in the vineyard, the Bollinger house has achieved the feat of obtaining clear wines (the wines after their first fermentation, the one that transforms the grape juice into wine, and therefore with the second fermentation, that which brings the bubbles) remarkable.
