Taittinger's Comte de Champagne 2006 is a champagne of exceptional finesse and aromatic complexity.
The 2006 vintage was marked by a warm climate that produced grapes of excellent ripeness. The Chardonnays in particular developed notes of white fruit and citrus.
Comte de Champagne is a Blanc de Blancs cuvée, made from Chardonnays from the great terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.
A very small proportion of the wines (5%) are aged in oak barrels for 4 months to add a touch of complexity.
Taittinger's Comte de Champagne 2006 is pale gold in color, with fine, light bubbles.
On the nose, this champagne offers fruity citrus notes. On the second nose, candied fruit and pastry aromas appear.
On the palate, the attack is both lively and unctuous. It's a rich, greedy, expressive champagne, with a long, vibrant finish of spicy notes.
