This box contains a bottle of the Collection 245 from Roederer champagne as well as two tasting flutes.
This Collection 245 cuvée from Louis Roederer bears this name because it designates the 245th blend of the House. To go further in the quality of the House's blends and to bring more transparency to the blends, Louis Roederer has committed to a new approach with the creation of this Collection cuvée.
This champagne is the result of the blending of grapes coming one-third each from the vineyards of "La Rivière", "La Montagne", and "La Côte". The Collection 245 cuvée is composed of a base vintage, reserve wines aged in wood, and wine from the "perpetual reserve" which follows the principles of the solera and was started in 2012. Each edition of Collection is thus unique and yet always representative of the identity and know-how of Roederer.
The Collection 245 cuvée, presented here in a box with two flutes, is composed of 41% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, and 24% Meunier. This cuvée is made with 55% of the 2020 harvest (of which 10% are vinified in wood), 10% reserve wines aged in wood, and 35% perpetual reserve. Malolactic fermentation is partially carried out at 22% and the wine is dosed Brut at 7 g/L.
The year 2020 was marked by the hot and sunny climate of the months of August and September. Combined with cool nights approaching the harvest, this allowed the vine to experience exceptional ripening dynamics, offering a superb balance between acidity, sugar level, and aromatic concentration. The 2020 vintage is one of the most beautiful of recent years.
The Collection 245 stands out with a beautiful golden yellow color, typical of great champagnes, with regular and dynamic effervescence.
The nose reveals a bouquet of nectarine and lemon, accompanied by sweet notes of petals reminiscent of almonds and harvest.
The palate is velvety, supple, ample, and juicy. The texture is concentrated and broad with a refined balance between matter and crunchy chalky freshness, powdery and saline, which gives a magnificent sensation of freshness. The finish is long and chiseled, marked by smoky and slightly woody notes.
The price of the box containing a bottle of the Collection 245 cuvée from Louis Roederer and two tasting flutes is 79,90 €. An extremely competitive price for a champagne of this quality, and these two beautiful flutes.
The reviews of the Collection 245 cuvée from Louis Roederer in a gift box are unanimous: champagne lovers praise its aromatic complexity and perfect balance. Customers particularly appreciate its fruity notes and silky texture. Many also highlight the affordable nature of this cuvée in relation to its exceptional quality, making this bottle a preferred choice for many occasions.
To fully enjoy the Collection 245 cuvée, it is recommended to store it in a cool place, away from light and vibrations. This champagne has an interesting aging potential, but it is nevertheless less significant in a half-bottle than in a bottle or magnum. This cuvée can, of course, be tasted now to enjoy its freshness and vivacity.
The Louis Roederer style is synonymous with precision and creativity. Each cuvée is thought of as a work of art, with particular care given to the details. Under the direction of the talented cellar master Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, the House of Roederer perpetuates a tradition of excellence while constantly innovating. This Collection 245 in a half-bottle perfectly embodies this bold and respectful approach to traditions.
