The Collection 243 by Louis Roederer in magnum is a true work of Champagne art, combining richness and freshness with unparalleled elegance. This champagne, dominated by aromas of mirabelle plum and lemon tart, is perfect for enhancing your special occasions.
The Collection 243 by Louis Roederer is the result of meticulous craftsmanship that highlights the historic terroirs of the House. This blend consists of 42% Chardonnay, which brings finesse and minerality, 40% Pinot Noir, for structure and depth, and 18% Meunier, adding a touch of roundness and fruitiness. The winemaking process includes a part of Perpetual Reserve created in 2012, representing 31% of the blend, and reserve wines aged in wood, up to 10%, for added complexity and depth. The 2018 vintage, which makes up 59% of the cuvée, brings exceptional maturity, highlighted by a balanced dosage of 8g/l.
The Collection 243 stands out with a brilliant gold color with shimmering reflections, featuring fine and dynamic effervescence prolonged by a very persistent bead.
The nose is both ample and fresh, revealing a bouquet of ripe fruits such as mirabelle plum, as well as sweet citrus notes reminiscent of lemon tart. Delicate floral scents, such as jasmine, add an elegant floral touch, while smoky nuances and lightly toasted pastry add depth.
On the palate, the Collection 243 cuvée is dense and structured, with an enchanting texture dominated by the fleshiness of Pinot Noir. The saline freshness and a slight bitterness balance this richness, offering a tasting experience that is both powerful and delicate. The finish, marked by the calcareous freshness of the Chardonnays, is long and persistent, highlighting the exceptional maturity of the 2018 harvest.
The price of the Louis Roederer Collection 243 magnum is 119,95 €. This price is particularly attractive for a champagne of such quality. The magnum is not only an ideal format for special occasions, but it also helps preserve the aromas and freshness of the champagne for longer. For a champagne of this caliber, it is truly an affordable cuvée, offering excellent value for money.
Reviews of the Louis Roederer Collection 243 are unanimous: customers appreciate its aromatic richness, perfect balance, and great freshness. This champagne is often described as an essential choice for grand celebrations, offering a refined and memorable tasting experience. To store the Louis Roederer Collection 243, it is recommended to keep it in a cool, dark place. Thanks to its magnum format, this champagne benefits from increased aging potential, allowing it to develop more complexity over the years while retaining its original freshness.
The Louis Roederer style is the perfect blend of tradition and modernity. Under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon, the cellar master of the house, each cuvée, including Collection 243, is a reinterpretation of the style and vision of the Louis Roederer house.
Tasting
By Patrick BorrasThe Collection 243 Roederer boasts a superb robe, brilliant and sparkling. The bubbles that run through it are of remarkable finesse.
The nose of this champagne is ample, generous and complex, combining yellow fruits, floral notes and a certain aromatic richness on the second nose.
On the palate, the Collection 243 Louis Roederer is magnificent, with a very delicate texture.
For me, it's an ideal champagne for the aperitif. A cuvée that I recommend you to serve around 9 or 10°C.
