Vintage 2009 | Bottle 75cl - Box
A sunny, continental year, with a very cold, dry winter, followed by a beautiful, sunny summer and virtually no rainfall in August and September. All of this contributed to the classic development of the vines, a remarkable state of health and masterful ripening of the grapes, resulting in dense, fruity and delicious wines! 2009 is clearly one of Champagne's most successful and brilliant vintages, with its sunny yet light signature. The Vintage cuvée benefits from an average of 4 years' maturation in our cellars, plus 6 months' rest after disgorgement to perfect its maturity. The dosage is 9 g/l. The effervescence is bright and dynamic, with a champagne gold color and slightly coppery highlights. Delightful, complex, generous and deep bouquet, dominated by red (raspberry) and yellow fruits (nectarine, mirabelle), smoky nuances (hazelnut and toasted almond) and a solar expression of sun-warmed pebbles. Velvety, unctuous and elegant on the palate, with a mineral freshness and vertical structure very characteristic of Verzenay Pinot Noirs. The juice is deep, full-bodied and complex, where the almost solar richness of the fruit is counterbalanced by the saline freshness of the terroir. The ageing potential of this fine 2009 is certainly considerable.
