Cristal from Roederer is a legendary cuvée! A champagne created in 1876 in response to a request from Tsar Alexander II, already a great fan of Louis Roederer cuvées, for something even more exceptional, a cuvée unique in bottle and quality.
Louis Roederer had a special cuvée made from the 7 most famous crus of his vineyard. The cuvée is paired with a crystal bottle specially designed for the occasion.
Le Cristal Roederer is only produced in great vintages, when the maturity of the Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes enables a subtle, precise balance to be achieved.
Made from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, of which 20% is vinified in oak foudres, this is a concentrated, mature and dense champagne.
The warm climate of 2006 enabled us to achieve a perfect balance between substance and purity.
In its 2006 vintage, Cuvée Cristal is a brilliant, slightly amber, golden color. Its bubbles are fine and subdued.
The nose reveals a rich bouquet of candied citrus fruits (lemon, orange), white flowers and dried fruit.
The second nose reveals more intense notes of yellow fruit, with sustained, intense aromas.
On the palate, Roederer's Cristal 2006 is dizzying, with a silky, chiseled texture that carries aromas of ripe, fleshy fruit. It's a wine of great freshness, which brings out the ripeness of the aromas, and supports this concentration with a touch of minerality.
The finish is astonishingly harmonious, revealing hints of tatin and viennoiseries against a backdrop of complex flavors. A finish that vibrates for long seconds on the palate.
