Roederer's Brut 2006 is a structured, powerful cuvée with an assertive, intense personality.
2006 was a hot year, marked by a succession of contrasting climatic episodes. The end of August and the beginning of September were warm, allowing the vines to ripen and produce rich grapes.
Brut 2006 is a blend of 70% pinot noir and 30% chardonnay. A third of this blend is vinified in oak foudres to develop complexity and structure.
This champagne has a yellow, slightly amber color, studded with fine bubbles.
The Roederer Brut 2006 reveals a nose of citrus, ripe fruit and floral notes (hawthorn, rose...).
On the second nose, more gourmand notes (baked apple, tarte tatin, grilled almonds) and a slight woody nuance appear.
The palate is dense and vinous, with an attack that reveals all the ripeness and natural sweetness of Pinot Noir. Warm, sweet woody notes (hazelnut/almond) mingle with ripe fruit aromas.
The fine, delicate effervescence of Roederer Brut Millésime 2006 balances this vinous structure, complemented by a beautiful mineral, almost iodized texture.
The finish is racy and extremely long.
A great vintage, concentrated, rich and perfectly balanced.
