Vintage 2007 from the Roederer champagne house expresses itself in intense fruit notes full of warmth wrapped in a silky texture.
In 2007 the climate was marked by an exceptionally warm spring and a cool summer resulting in an early harvest, with the grapes being picked at the end of August. The relatively dry conditions at the end of summer were propitious to good maturity levels.
Made essentially from Pinot Noir (70%), and completed with 30% Chardonnay, it is made in oak casks and benefits from a four year cellar ageing period and six months settling after disgorgement to accomplish its maturity.
The dosage for this cuvee is average, to allow the characteristics of the vintage to shine through.
Roederer Vintage 2007 is beautifully gold with flashes of copper, and a fine, abundant effervescence.
Rich aromas of pear, raspberry and dried fruits are followed by nuances of cocoa, pastries and vanilla.
In the mouth it is intense and incisive, with the palate being characterised by its exceptional fruit and velvety, caressing texture.
Skilful craftsmanship in the use of barrels gives a subtle and elegant hint of oak, contributing lightly toasted and vanilla notes which underline without dominating the fruit of the Pinot Noir which forms the essence of this blend.
