The Vintage 2014 from Piper-Heidsieck is a fine and brilliant vintage champagne that reveals all the richness of the year 2014 with gourmet notes and remarkable freshness.
The Vintage 2014 champagne from Piper-Heidsieck is a pure expression of the Champagne terroir, crafted from grapes mainly from Grand and Premier Crus. This vintage is dominated by Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, two emblematic grape varieties of the region, carefully selected to capture the quintessence of this exceptional year.
The 2014 vintage began with an early spring, offering beautiful flowering, followed by a cool and humid summer. However, the return of the sun from mid-August allowed the grapes to benefit from a prolonged Indian summer, ideal for their ripening. This combination of climatic conditions gave birth to crisp Chardonnays and fine, fruity Pinot Noirs, which form the soul of this cuvée.
The vinification of this champagne is carried out with slow and qualitative pressing, followed by alcoholic fermentation in thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks, ensuring precise temperature control to preserve the freshness of the aromas. Malolactic fermentation is carried out at 100%, bringing a subtle roundness to the wine.
After aging on lees for a minimum of 5 years in the house's cellars, the Vintage 2014 benefits from a Brut dosage with 7g/l of sugar, a perfect balance to express all the richness and intensity of this unique vintage.
The Vintage 2014 stands out with a luminous golden color, with golden reflections and fine, persistent effervescence, a sign of long aging on lees.
On the nose, this cuvée offers a rich aromatic palette with notes of orange blossom, apricot, brioche, and roasted almonds. These aromas then evolve towards hints of mandarin, lime zest, and licorice.
On the palate, the Vintage 2014 reveals a ample and generous structure, with a fresh and lively attack. The flavors of dried fruits and citrus intertwine harmoniously, giving way to a long and balanced finish, marked by saline minerality and a spicy touch.
