      Description

Pierre Moncuit Champagne's 2008 Extra Brut is a taut, fresh Blanc de Blancs with superb minerality. It's an ideal aperitif champagne.

This cuvée is made from Chardonnay Grand Cru grapes from the Mesnil-sur-Oger terroir, one of the most renowned in the Côte des Blancs.

Nicole Moncuit is renowned for the finesse of her winemaking, and this 2008 vintage gives her yet another opportunity to showcase this expertise.

The 2008 vintage is one of the greatest of recent years. It got off to a poor start, with wet, cool weather in the spring. But a superb September produced grapes with an absolutely perfect balance of sugar and acidity.

After more than 10 years in the Pierre Moncuit cellars, the 2008 vintage is a slender champagne, with dazzling fruit notes and remarkable aromatic persistence.

On the nose, Millésime 2008 Grand Cru Pierre Moncuit reveals light floral notes and a minerality typical of the extra brut dosage. After a few moments, the wine gains in intensity and we discover greedier aromas and a slightly spicy touch brought by the chalk of the Mesnil-sur-Oger terroir.

On the palate, this is a champagne with a straightforward, taut attack, followed by a fine mineral framework and beautiful fruit notes. The finish is long and slightly saline. A superb aperitif champagne.
