The House of Pierre Moncuit was founded at the end of the 19th century. Since the 1980s, Nicole Moncuit, daughter of Pierre, has been signing the wines of the House. She became one of the few women in charge of winemaking in the region. She crafts wines that combine the precision of fruit, finesse of bubbles, and suppleness. For several years, Valérie Charpentier, Nicole's daughter, has been at the helm of Domaine Pierre Moncuit and continues the House's style. The vineyard now spans approximately 20 hectares, exclusively planted with Chardonnay, including 15 hectares on the Grand Cru terroir of Mesnil-sur-Oger, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs.
The Pierre Moncuit cuvées thus offer different facets of the Chardonnay grape, highlighting the specificities of the terroirs and various harvests. From non-vintage brut like the Cuvées Hugues de Coulmet, round and elegant, or Pierre Moncuit Delos, mineral and fresh, to the more exclusive Cuvée Nicole Moncuit, crafted only in exceptional years from old vines over 50 years old, the House of Pierre Moncuit offers champagnes with multiple nuances.
