Millésime 2005 from Pierre Moncuit Moncuit is made from Grand Cru Chardonnay, the highest level of classification in the champagne appellation.
It’s a vintage characterised by its power, complexity and richness of aromas, with its touch of citrus and long finish.
It is a champagne that has been quietly matured in the Moncuit cellars for several years to embellish and mature its aromas.
Tasting
By Patrick BorrasPierre Moncuit's 2005 vintage has a golden yellow color with golden highlights. Its bubbles are fine and intense.
This champagne has a complex nose with brioche, honey and slightly buttery aromas. On the second nose, notes of fresh fruit, fresh pear, grapes and floral notes of lime blossom and jasmine appear.
On the palate, the attack is rich, supple and intense. It's an unctuous cuvée, with gourmet aromas and a fresh, well-balanced finish. It's a cuvée that reflects the sun-drenched 2005 vintage.
I recommend serving this Pierre Moncuit 2005 vintage as an aperitif or with fish.
