Description

Clos des Goisses by Maison Philipponnat is one of Champagne's legendary cuvées, made from the most exceptional slopes in Champagne.

Clos des Goisses is the oldest Clos in Champagne. It is totally unique in that its extreme 45° slope and south-facing position give it maximum sunshine. It's also an exceptional parcel thanks to the significant presence of chalk, which literally outcrops, giving the cuvée its characteristic minerality.

This long-aged cuvée has benefited from the freshness of the Maison Philipponnat cellars for a quarter of a century, a promise of unequalled quality and exclusivity, before being lightly dosed in Extra Brut at 4.5 g/L a few months before release, to fully reveal the aromatic personality of each vintage.

This exceptional cuvée is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, partially vinified in wood to add a touch of complexity. Maison Philipponnat has succeeded in revealing the full potential of this 1994 vintage, with clean, straightforward wines.

The remarkable finesse and vivacity of the Chardonnay blend perfectly with the complex, powerful Pinot Noirs.

Only 933 numbered bottles of this exceptional cuvée were released on July 2, 2019, out of the 3,665 originally produced in July 1995.
