      Description

Clos des Goisses by Maison Philipponnat is one of Champagne's legendary cuvées, made from the most exceptional slopes in Champagne.

Clos des Goisses is the oldest Clos in Champagne. It is totally unique in that its extreme 45° slope and south-facing position give it maximum sunshine. It's also an exceptional parcel thanks to the significant presence of chalk, which literally outcrops, giving the cuvée its characteristic minerality.

62% of this champagne is vinified in wood to enhance its complexity, without premature oxidation. Malolactic fermentation is not carried out, so that the natural acidity compensates for the great power of the terroir. After bottling, the bottles are aged for at least eight years in the Maison's historic cellars in Mareuil-sur-Ay.

This cuvée has a brilliant gold color, with beautiful effervescence and a persistent cordon.

The nose is elegant and fruity, with notes of raspberry and raspberry brandy. The finish is gourmand, with notes of praline, frangipane, sponge cake and custard.

On the palate, the attack is fresh and pure. The wine is very elegant, with hints of menthol. The finish is long and mineral.

Maison Philipponnat's Clos des Goisses 2012 is a great wine before being a great Champagne. It will therefore form unforgettable alliances with dishes of great taste, such as iodized fish, lobster or even soft cheeses in which years.

For optimal tasting, Le Clos des Goisses 2012 by Maison Philipponnat deserves to be decanted before serving.
