      Description

Clos des Goisses by Philipponnat is one of our legendary cuvées. It's a champagne made from the most exceptional of the Champagne hillsides.

It's a blend of 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay, harvested from the famous Clos des Goisses, a 5.5-hectare walled vineyard in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. The oldest and steepest Clos in Champagne, it enjoys a remarkable south-facing exposure.

This champagne is partially vinified in wood (50%) to add a touch of complexity. Malolactic fermentation is omitted to preserve the freshness that balances the power of the terroir.

Clos des Goisses is aged for 10 years in our cellars to develop its aromas.

This cuvée has an intense color, with fine, delicate bubbles.

The nose reveals notes of citrus, candied fruit, dried fruit and nougat.

On the palate, this champagne has a creamy attack, with superb length on the palate. This is a dense, warm, ample, generous cuvée, carried by an elegant minerality.

The finely vinous finish is remarkably long.

A superb champagne of intensity and power.
