Philipponnat's Blanc de Noirs 2009 is a vinous, fruity cuvée with astonishing aromatic depth.
It is a champagne made exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes from the Premiers and Grands Crus terroirs of Montagne de Reims and Mareuil-sur-Ay.
Blanc de Noirs 2009 Philipponnat was vinified in the traditional way, half in stainless steel tanks and half in oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was partially carried out for the wines vinified in stainless steel tanks, but not for those aged in wood, in order to preserve their freshness.
The dosage is Extra Brut at 4.25g/l to maintain the balance between freshness and vinosity, and to highlight the wine's character and purity.
Blanc de Noirs 2009 Philipponnat has a golden color studded with fine, creamy bubbles.
On the nose, the champagne reveals spicy, peppery notes that combine with a touch of acacia flower honey. An intense, complex nose.
On the palate, the champagne is full-bodied and mineral, with a fine mineral presence and a fruity touch typical of Pinot Noir.
This is a cuvée of sublime power and beautiful aromatic persistence, with a spicy, peppery finish.
