Louise Brison's Millésime 2015 is a champagne with an assertive style, a cuvée that offers both freshness and complexity on the palate.
Louise Brison, headed by Delphine Brulez, produces only vintage cuvees. These vintages are only offered for tasting after at least 6 years' ageing in the house cellars.
The 2015 vintage is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay. The grapes come from the house's parcels located mainly on the terroir of Noé-Les-Mallets, in the Aube region. It's a very different terroir from that of the Marne. Here, we're closer to the terroirs of Chablis, with clay-limestone soils providing a generous, racy aromatic signature.
Vinified and aged in wood for around 9 months on lees, the cuvée takes its time to develop its complexity.
Vintage 2015 Louise Brison has a golden color with brilliant highlights. Its bubbles are fine and regular.
On the nose, this cuvée reveals pretty notes of citrus (grapefruit) and white fruit. The nose is fresh and very elegant.
On the palate, this champagne extends the sensations discovered on the nose. There are tangy notes of lemon and citrus, followed mid-palate by greedier, even toasty aromas.
This is a champagne that can be opened a quarter of an hour before tasting, or even decanted a few moments before serving.
This lovely Millésime 2015 can be enjoyed as an aperitif, but is especially well-suited to seafood or raw vegetables.
