Millésime 2015 Leclerc Briant is the third vintage cuvée in the range to be created by Hervé Jestin and the new team at the head of the house. It embodies the revival of this pioneering brand of organic champagnes and the assertion of the house style.
This champagne is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. Vinified in oak barrels and stainless steel tanks, this champagne is remarkably well-balanced. Bottled in July 2016, it then spent 5 years in the house cellars before being dosed at 3 g/L and offered for tasting.
This cuvée has a powdery gold color with pale yellow highlights.
The nose is immediately intense, with lovely notes of brioche and vanilla, followed by aromas of candied citrus fruit. Aeration allows the wine to flesh out further, revealing notes of jasmine and sweet spices.
On the palate, the texture is luscious and fruity, with a lovely gourmand touch and always that mineral and iodine presence.
This Millésime 2015 Leclerc Briant is a perfect match for seafood.
