The Cuvée Les Alouettes Saint Bets 2011 from Maison Hugues Godmé is a Blanc de Blancs, parcel-based, vintage champagne that combines the minerality of a chalky terroir with the richness of wood ageing.
This cuvée is made exclusively with Chardonnay from the "Les Alouettes Saint Bets" parcel, located in Villers-Marmery on the Montagne de Reims, on the border with Verzy. This plot is cultivated biodynamically, and the grapes offer great minerality and saline tension.
The 2011 vintage was a year of contrasts, with alternating rain, cool weather and high temperatures from the end of May. This vintage therefore expresses more finesse than power.
This cuvée is entirely vinified in oak barrels and aged for a year and a half, without malolactic fermentation. After disgorging, the wine is not dosed.
Hugues Godmé's 2011 Les Alouettes Saint Bets Champagne features a delicate blend of fruity and pastry notes, supported by a refreshing finish.
