      Description

The 2012 Vintage is the interpretation of a singular year and the reflection of the terroirs characteristic of the year according to the House. Each vintage is therefore a unique creation, with its own selection of blended wines and its own particular aromatic expression.

"Henriot Millésime 2012 is characterized by aromatic heterogeneity and complexity, while at the same time forming a set of wines that seem to have always been complementary." Alice Tétienne, Cellar Master at Maison Henriot.

The year 2012 was characterized by a rainy spring, and a gloomy start to summer. But from mid-August onwards, summer set in in Champagne bringing very dry weather and warm temperatures until the end of the harvest. Yields for the 2012 harvest were relatively modest, helping to produce concentrated wines.

This 2012 vintage is a blend of Chardonnay (54%) and Pinot Noir (46%), from 6 Premiers and Grands Crus, Trépail, Mailly-Champagne, Verzenay and Avenay in Montagne de Reims as well as Chouilly and Avize in Côtes des Blancs.

Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs brings freshness and minerality, while Pinot offers a beautiful aromatic palette and amplitude to the wine.

After cellaring for a minimum of 8 years, the wine is blended at 6 g/L, on the borderline between Extra-Brut and Brut.

The first nose is intense and powerful, counterbalanced a few seconds later by superb elegance, with airy, floral notes. Then aromatic notes follow one after the other, with summer flowers, meringue, ripe fruit, then fresh summer redcurrants, chalk and minerality.

On the palate, the same sensations of harmony and contrast are felt, making this creation unique.
