Cuvée Fût de Chêne MV 14 from Henri Giraud is the fullest, richest expression of the house style.
This champagne blends 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. This cuvée is aged in solera, marrying several vintages. The 2014 vintage makes up the majority of the cuvée Fût de Chêne MV 13 Henri Giraud, representing more than two-thirds of the blend.
This champagne spends 12 months in small oak barrels from the Argonne forest, then 6 years on the lees in bottle.
This cuvée is insanely complex and incredibly rich, thanks to the Grand Cru terroir of Aÿ, but also to the oak from the Argonne forest, which gives it its characteristic velvety texture.
Cuvée Fût de Chêne Multivintage 14 Henri Giraud has a deep, intense golden color.
The nose is rich, with greedy notes of pastry, ripe yellow fruit and spices (cinnamon).
The palate offers an elegant, round attack, then unfolds its silky touch, carried by a certain salinity and a hint of minerality. The finish asserts itself with freshness and a hint of menthol.
A magnificent cuvée for connoisseurs.
