The Mon Village cuvée from Girard-Bonnet champagne is a tribute to the exceptional terroir of Mesnil-sur-Oger, where Paul Girard grew up. With its subtle aromas and crisp mouthfeel, this 100% Chardonnay Grand Cru champagne is the perfect cuvée for an aperitif or to accompany a seafood platter.
The Mon Village cuvée is composed of 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay, sourced from the old vines of Mesnil-sur-Oger. This blend comprises 70% of the 2021 harvest and 30% perpetual reserve wines. These reserves, aged in barrels, bring depth and complexity to this cuvée.
The vinification relies on the use of indigenous yeasts and takes place entirely in oak barrels. The juices are aged on lees for several months, providing richness and texture to this champagne. Dosed as extra-brut with only 3 g/L of sugar, this cuvée preserves all the purity and elegance of the Chardonnay.
The Mesnil-sur-Oger, located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, is renowned for its argilo-calcareous soils on Campanian chalk. These characteristics give the wines a unique minerality and great aromatic purity. The Mon Village cuvée captures the essence of these soils, revealing a pure expression of the terroir.
The Girard-Bonnet domain is committed to organic and biodynamic practices, certified Bio and Demeter since 2023. With practices such as eco-grazing, the use of herbal teas, and the elimination of herbicides, the vineyard fully enhances each parcel to reach its full potential.
The Mon Village cuvée presents a light golden hue, traversed by fine effervescence.
Its complex nose reveals notes of citrus, lemon zest, and white peach, accompanied by subtle floral touches.
On the palate, it is ample and precise, offering flavors of apricot and grilled hazelnut. The finish, long and mineral, is marked by great freshness.
The price of the Mon Village Girard-Bonnet bottle is 74,95 €. This is a bottle that benefits from a Chardonnay coming from one of the most reputed terroirs of Champagne.
Champagne enthusiasts praise the precision and purity of this cuvée, as well as its mineral and persistent finish. Check out the reviews of the Mon Village Girard-Bonnet cuvée to learn more.
To fully enjoy the Mon Village cuvée, store it in a dark cellar at a stable temperature of 10 to 12°C. This champagne can be enjoyed immediately or kept for up to twelve years to develop even more complexity.
