Georges Remy's Cuvée les Quatre Terroirs, shown here in magnum, is a champagne d'auteur, a champagne with a strong personality.
Georges Remy is a young winemaker who started out making red Champagne, an example probably unique in the region, before moving on to sparkling wines.
This cuvée Les Quatre Terroirs is a reflection of his estate, which extends over 4 Champagne villages: Bouzy, Ambonnay, Louvois and Tauxières. Four villages located on the Montagne de Reims.
This cuvée blends 82% Pinot noir and 18% Chardonnay, a blend based on the 2018 harvest, vinified and aged on fine lees in new oak barrels or barrels with a maximum of 4 wines.
Malolactic fermentation is carried out, and the dosage is Extra Brut, around 1g/l.
This is a champagne with a golden color and lovely copper highlights.
On the nose, greedy notes of pastry and a hint of menthol.
On the palate, aromas combine the chalky minerality of the Montagne de Reims with the expressiveness of barrel ageing.
This is an impressive champagne, which will make a fine gastronomic match, especially with shellfish.
