Description

Cuvée 60/40 from Elemart Robion is a very delicate champagne, a lacy, subtle cuvée to be enjoyed as an aperitif or with fine food.

This champagne is made from a blend of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Meunier. The grapes come from the Lhéry terroir in the Vallée de l'Ardre, and more precisely from plots on soils combining clay, limestone and sand. These plots all face south-west, giving the grapes excellent ripeness.

The grapes were then vinified partly in stainless steel vats and partly in oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation was carried out and the wine was aged on lees before bottling in May 2018.

During cellar ageing, the bottles are regularly handled. This consists in stirring the bottles to put the lees back into suspension and thus develop the wine's texture and aromas.

The bottles of Cuvée 60/40 were disgorged in July 2021, and dosed with Extra Brut (3g/L).

This cuvée from Elemart Robion has a pale gold color with fine bubbles.

The first nose reveals notes of white flowers, with a hint of iodine. The second nose reveals notes of hazelnut, nougat, white peach and fresh butter.

On the palate, we discover a very delicate cuvée, with a texture of unprecedented finesse. Creamy effervescence. On the palate, the wine is marvelous, developing a luscious, fruity texture underpinned by lemony, orange acidity. The mid-palate offers clean minerality, iodized salinity and a chiseled structure.

The finish is pulpy, delicate and pure.

Serve Elemart Robion Cuvée 60/40 as an aperitif or with shellfish or poultry.
