Champagne Voie d'Oger 2016 is made from grapes grown in the eponymous lieu-dit on the Grand Cru terroir ofAvize. Vinification takes place in stainless-steel vats to preserve all the freshness and varietal expression of the grape variety. The wine then rests for over 5 years on lees to develop its depth and complexity.
The cuvée was disgorged in July 2023 and given a low dosage of Extra Brut (1.2 g/l), in a refined style that highlights the authenticity of the terroir and the energy of the Chardonnay.
Despite a climate marked by contrasts, 2016 in Champagne produced wines of great precision. In Avize, the Chardonnays took advantage of the sunny end of the season to reach excellent ripeness, while retaining their characteristic vivacity. As a result, this vintage reveals all the tension and salinity typical of the greatest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs.
Voie d'Oger 2016 is a crystalline pale yellow with silver highlights and a fine, delicate effervescence.
The nose reveals great aromatic precision, with aromas of ripe citrus fruit, white flowers, fresh hazelnut and a subtle marine touch reminiscent of oyster shell.
On the palate, this champagne is lively, incisive and saline, carried by taut acidity and a rich texture. The finish is elegant and precise, leaving a saline persistence of great purity.
The price of the bottle of Champagne Doyard Voie d'Oger 2016 is 179,95 €. Its rarity and mineral brilliance make it a must-have for lovers of great Blancs de Blancs Grand Cru.
