This Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013, like each of the House's vintages, is singular and reinterprets the unique character of the seasons.
The 2013 vintage was a particularly late cycle, but the radiant summer allowed maximum sunshine and low rainfall, ideal parameters for the ripening of Chardonnays and Pinots. The autumn harvest produced elegant, fresh wines. TheDom Pérignon harvest took place between September 28 and October 15, and tasting the grapes revealed a promising balance between acidity and roundness.
It takes no less than eight years of elaboration in the House's cellars to achieve Dom Pérignon's aesthetic ideal.
The nose is delicate, revealing notes of eucalyptus, mint, vetiver, mirabelle plum, apricot and orange blossom. This is followed by spicy accents of pepper, cardamom and licorice stick, followed by iodine and toasty fragrances.
The palate is elegant, simple and precise, with an enveloping, airy attack. The wine's fine, silky texture builds. The finish is deep and saline.
