The 2010 vintage succeeds the myhtic 2008 vintage. It's a very well-balanced vintage. Indeed, 2010 was marked by a very cold winter, followed by an austere spring. A sunny, dry summer enabled the grapes to reach excellent ripeness. Finally, the 2010 vintage is exceptional. It's the most mature of the last decade, ahead of 2009 in particular, and the vintage with the best acidity after 2008.
The Dom Pérignon 2010 Vintage magnum's color is superb, golden and sparkling, with fine, lively bubbles.
On the nose, the champagne reveals notes of tropical fruit (green mango, melon, pineapple...). On the second nose, hints of citrus come through to awaken the taste buds. Hints of flowers and chalk round out this lovely nose.
On the palate, this Vintage 2010 begins with a full, ample, massive attack. The mid-palate is creamy and generous, with spicy, peppery notes. The finish is energetic and deliciously saline.
