Description

There are 3 stages in the development of a Dom Pérignon vintage, 3 periods that reveal the features of a cuvée without ever denying its personality.

First, there is the first plenitude, which reveals itself after a minimum of seven years of maturation on lees. Then comes the second stage, specific to each vintage. The second fullness, P2, is the time of energy: after a minimum of twelve years maturation on lees, the wine's intensity is magnified.

The third plenitude comes after at least 20 years of ageing, and is the time of complexity and depth.

Richard Geoffroy, Cellar Master at Dom Pérignon, chose the 1998 vintage to inaugurate the first P2 to be marketed by the company.

At the time of its launch and P1 phase in 1998, it was a vintage of perfect balance. After 16 years in the cellar, its potential has been transcended.

In P2, the wine is sublimated, its energy multiplied tenfold. The dynamics of transformation are palpable, promising to go even further.

During this second Plénitude, Dom Pérignon's complex mineral, iodine and spice character is expressed as never before.

The P2 phase is the moment when youthful aromas, floral notes and toasty, gourmet aromas of citrus and hazelnut come together.
