This Charles Heidsieck box contains half a bottle of Brut Réserve, half a bottle of Rosé Réserve and half a bottle of Blanc de Blancs. These three cuvées are the ideal introduction to the House's inimitable style.
Brut Réserve is a blend of grapes from around 60 different Champagne terroirs, plus reserve wines with an average age of 10 years, which account for 40% of the blend. This high proportion of wines from previous harvests, combined with 8 years' ageing in the Charles Heidsieck cellars, ensures that Brut Réserve has a perfectly unique and inimitable style.
The nose is astonishing and singular, combining roasted coffee, brioche and pastries, with hints of ripe mango, apricot and dried fruit.
On the palate, Brut Réserve reveals its full potential. It's a precise champagne, with an elegant, rich touch.
It's a cuvée with a smooth, even creamy texture, finishing with praline and vanilla.
Rosé Réserve is a full-bodied, gourmet cuvée distinguished by over 36 months' cellar ageing.
On the nose, Rosé Réserve Charles Heidsieck presents notes of strawberries and stewed fruit, which then melt into a gourmet envelope. We discover mellow notes of gingerbread and cinnamon.
On the palate, this is a champagne with a round, delicate attack, thanks to long maturation in the cellar.
The palate develops aromas of red fruit and a milky touch.
Blanc de Blancs is a blend of 75% vintage wines and 25% reserve wines, a cuvée that succeeds in making opposites coexist: the tension and freshness of young Chardonnays on the one hand, and the silkiness and "Charles Heidsieck" patina on the other.
The blend of this Blanc de Blancs is made up of Chardonnays from the terroirs of Oger et Vertus, Villers-Marmery, Trépail, Vaudemange and Montgueux. This cuvée has been aged for 4 years in the company's cellars, and the Brut dosage is 10 g/L.
On the nose, this Champagne offers notes of vine peach and candied citrus, with hints of lime blossom, honeysuckle and fresh hazelnuts. The second nose reveals subtle aromas of tangerine and lemon.
On the palate, Blanc de Blancs offers a clean, pure, smooth attack, followed by a creamy, silky touch. The balanced finish is surprisingly mineral and saline.
