      Description

Cuvée La Grande Année Rosé 2005 is an exceptional champagne from Bollinger. The fruit of a unique encounter between a vintage champagne and a red wine from the famous Côte aux Enfants parcel, it is extraordinarily aromatically complex.

Its power makes it an excellent Champagne to accompany poultry, spicy dishes or a red fruit crumble.

Made from Pinot Noir (72%) and Chardonnay (28%), it brings together some of Champagne's finest Grands Crus, including Aÿ, Verzenay, Avize, Chouilly and Mesnil-sur-Oger.

To give it all its elegance, the cuvée is carefully aged in the Maison Bollinger cellars for twice as long as the appellation rules.

The character of this Cuvée is the expression of the rare yet complicated climatic conditions of 2005. After a very hot August, the harvest took place during the much cooler month of September. The expected volume was quite low, but the quality of the grapes was exceptional.

The color is a subtle salmon-pink, with lovely orange reflections.

The nose is a veritable aromatic bouquet. Fresh floral notes are combined with more gourmand notes of gingerbread and cinnamon.

The fruity palate reveals citrus fragrances, followed by a subtle, very pleasant note of redcurrant.
