The magnum Brut Intense "Mag 16" A.R. Lenoble is a superb, remarkable cuvée that combines liveliness and beautiful, gourmet aromas thanks to the ageing of the reserve wines in magnum. A perfect aperitif.
The Brut Intense "Mag 16" is in line with the new ageing methods implemented from the 2015 harvest. The DNA of A.R. Lenoble's Intense cuvée is preserved, with the presence of the 3 traditional Champagne grape varieties. The blend comprises 45% Pinot Meunier from the Damery terroir, 35% Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru terroir of Bisseuil, and 20% Chardonnay from the Grand Cru terroir of Chouilly.
Reserve wines, which represent 45% of the blend, are kept in corked magnums.
The magnum allows ideal ageing, optimized by the cork, which lets in very little air. Thanks to the destruction of yeasts by the wine's own enzymes, known as autolysis, a subtle and exceptional palette of aromas develops.
The Brut Intense "Mag 16" takes its name from this unique ageing of the reserve wines, but also from the majority year of the wines, which represent 55% of the blend, and which here come from the 2016 vintage.
The champagne is dosed in Extra Brut (2 grams per liter) to preserve its freshness.
A.R. Lenoble's Brut Intense "Mag 16" has a brilliant, luminous golden color, dotted with fine bubbles.
On the nose, it's a champagne of finesse, revealing beautiful fruity notes, followed by citrus aromas on the second nose.
On the palate, this is a smooth, round champagne, enveloping the palate with its fruity aromas. The palate is complex, full-bodied and intense, with a fruity, slightly acidic, long-lasting finish.
This magnum is perfect for an aperitif.
