Cuvée L'Epurée Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs from A.R. Lenoble is a champagne of finesse, liveliness and freshness.
Produced from Chardonnay grapes grown on the classified Grand Cru terroir of Chouilly, like the Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs cuvée, this champagne differs in the way it is made. A third of the wines have not undergone malolactic fermentation. The result is a livelier, sharper champagne, with a more pronounced freshness. Similarly, the proportion of wine aged in wood is lower (6% vs. 13%), as is the dosage, which is only 3g/L, accentuating the airy touch characteristic of this cuvée.
A.R. Lenoble's L'Epurée Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs has a golden color with green highlights, and numerous fine bubbles.
The nose is floral, lively and fresh, with aromas of white flowers and, more discreetly, dried fruit.
On the palate, L'Epurée Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs is surprisingly fresh for a wine made 100% from the Chouilly terroir, which is reputed to be rich and buttery. The palate is lightly citrusy, lively and tangy.
A light, fine, lively champagne, perfect for an aperitif.
