This champagne is the result of a balanced blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy, in the Montagne de Reims. This chalky soil brings remarkable mineral tension and finesse.
The vinification relies on a subtle mix of techniques:
The champagne is disgorged with a low dosage of 1.6 g/L, thus revealing the full identity of the terroir and the elegance of the vintage.
The 2021 harvest in Champagne was marked by contrasting weather conditions. A cool and humid spring gave way to a milder summer, yielding grapes with superb aromatic concentration. On the terroir of Verzy, the chalky freshness and purity of the fruit are beautifully expressed in this cuvée. This cuvée is based largely on the 2021 harvest, complemented by reserve wines from previous harvests.
The Magnum Le Terroir 2021 presents a luminous golden hue, animated by a fine bead of delicate bubbles.
On the nose, an expressive bouquet of citrus zest, white peach, and subtle floral notes is discovered. After aeration, aromas of brioche and hazelnut complete this elegant nose.
The attack is lively and straight, carried by a chalky minerality. The mid-palate reveals gourmet flavors of candied lemon, white fruits, and a slight toasted touch. The finish is saline, long, and vibrant.
