The Le Terroir (2021 harvest) cuvée crafted by Adrien Renoir is a beautiful interpretation of the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy. This champagne combines the chalky freshness of the terroir with the aromatic richness of its wood aging. Ideal for an aperitif, it also reveals itself to be exceptional for enhancing refined dishes.
The Terroir (2021 harvest) is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay, two emblematic grape varieties of the Montagne de Reims. These grapes come exclusively from the Grand Cru terroir of Verzy, renowned for its chalky soils that bring minerality and freshness.
The base wines from the 2021 harvest were vinified in stainless steel vats (80%) and oak barrels (20%), to preserve aromatic precision and add a touch of complexity. The reserve wines, which make up 20% of the blend, were aged in large oak casks, perpetuating the identity and style of the estate.
This cuvée was disgorged and then lightly dosed: 1.6 g/L. An Extra Brut approach that highlights the purity of the terroir and the elegance of the vintage. The result is a champagne of great precision, both rich and airy.
The Terroir (2021 harvest) boasts a shimmering golden color, traversed by elegant, fine bubbles.
The nose reveals delicate aromas of citrus, yellow fruits like apricot, and subtle floral notes. Upon aeration, hints of brioche and hazelnut add extra richness.
On the palate, the attack is lively and tense, highlighted by a chalky minerality. The mid-palate is rounder and fruity, with flavors of candied lemon and a touch of toasted bread. The finish is long, elegant, and saline.
The price of the Terroir (2021 harvest) Adrien Renoir bottle is 50,95 €. This cuvée, from a limited production, offers a unique tasting experience.
