The 2008 vintage produced by Maison A. Bergère is a champagne with empyreumatic aromas.
This cuvée is composed of Chardonnay (60%) and Pinot Noir (40%) from the terroirs of Fèrebrianges, Etoges and Congy in the Petit Morin Valley. These chalky, clay-limestone soils produce very fine grapes.
The 2008 vintage is one of the finest in Champagne in recent years. A rainy winter was followed by a mild spring and, above all, a beautiful month of September, producing superb grapes at harvest time. Without doubt, 2008 is an exceptional year in Champagne.
Vinification and ageing on lees are carried out in stainless steel vats, and malolactic fermentation takes place. After bottling, the bottles benefit from long ageing on the lees and late disgorging. The wine is not filtered to preserve all its qualities.
The nose and palate resonate with aromas of roasting, toasting and toasting.
