De Méric was founded in 1843 by the Besserat family in Aÿ. Since 2005, it has been under the management of Reynald Leclaire, wine broker and owner of Leclaire-Thiefaine. The wines are produced with total respect for traditional Champagne methods. They are vinified in oak barrels and aged for a minimum of three years in chalk cellars. Its Champagne de Meric Brut, made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown on terroirs classified as Premier Cru, was awarded a Coup de Coeur by the Guide Hachette des vins 2013.
