Description

Nicolas Maillart's Cuvée Platine Premier Cru Zéro Dosage is a champagne of great vivacity and freshness. It's a cuvée whose very fine bubbles will sublimate a fine seafood platter, for example.

Made from a blend of mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, this is a champagne that balances finesse, structure and fruity aromas. Almost a third of the wine is barrel-aged reserve wine (wine from the last harvest), which gives the wine a certain patina and consistency.

Only grapes from terroirs classified as Grand and Premiers Crus on the Montagne de Reims are used to make this Cuvée Platine Premier Cru.

This champagne is aged for 4 to 5 years in the house cellars to reveal all the subtleties of its blend. Prolonged aging and blending mean no dosage.

Cuvée Platine Premier Cru Zéro Dosage by Nicolas Maillart has a golden color, with fine, persistent bubbles.

The nose reveals notes of citrus fruit, candied lemon zest and, on the second nose, more pastry-like notes.

On the palate, this champagne has a fresh, vinous attack, carried by a fine tension. The palate is elegant, silky and light.

A very fine aperitif cuvée, or one that will resonate well with oysters or cold starters.
