While chatting with Etienne Calsac, during a visit to his installation in Avize, I realized that we lived in Reims a few streets apart, at equal or almost equal distance from the best wine bar in the city, Le Coq Rouge. This was the perfect opportunity to go and taste Les Rocheforts cuvée, the estate's flagship cuvée, on the terrace. This Blanc de Blancs has a crazy elegance and a perfect balance between roundness and freshness. This is a champagne that can be enjoyed as an aperitif, accompanied by diced Reims ham, or a few pieces of old Comté.

Out of concert at Clos Frantin at Nuits Saint Georges with friends, we decided to extend the evening by opening the Brut Réserve from Maison Leclerc Briant. Developed by one of the greatest specialists in organic farming and biodynamics in Champagne, this wine is unique and magnificent. The Brut Réserve is a non-vintage champagne on a 2012 harvest basis. It is a cuvée worthy of a very great champagne ! Dynamic and expressive, with a good length in the mouth while respecting the fruit. To be enjoyed as a plain aperitif or with a few light Parmesan cheese gougères. A very nice crush for this Brut Réserve from Maison Leclerc Briant !

for its bicentenary last June, the Billecart-Salmon house had put the small dishes in the big ones. She had organized a magnificent garden party at the castle of Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. Accompanied by magnificent sunshine, the day was marked by the launch of a special cuvée to celebrate this anniversary. It was also an opportunity for me to rediscover the range of the house, and in particular the Brut Rosé, the brand's emblematic cuvée. What intensity, what expressiveness! This cuvée is an explosion in the mouth of fruity notes, underlined by a very elegant, very delicate mouth. Perfect to accompany a sunny afternoon.
