Cuvée Le Mont des Chrétiens 2014 crafted by Frédéric Savart is a magnificent champagne of complexity and finesse. It's a champagne made exclusively from Chardonnay from the Le Mont des Chrétiens vineyard in Ecueil.
It's an atypical Blanc de Blancs, from a terroir, Ecueil, renowned for its fine Pinot Noirs. As such, these Chardonnays are focused on roundness and generosity. Frédéric Savart chose to vinify and age this cuvée in wood to give it a certain vinosity and volume. The wines spent 10 months in barrel, without stirring. Malolactic fermentation was blocked to preserve tension and enhance ageing potential.
