The Ruinart 2016 Vintage embodies the typical elegance and finesse of Ruinart champagne, while reflecting the contrasting character of the 2016 vintage. It is a cuvée that offers a magnificent balance between roundness and freshness. This fruity and mineral champagne will accompany a beautiful aperitif or even gastronomic dishes.
The Ruinart 2016 Vintage Champagne is the result of an assemblage of Chardonnays (48%), Pinot Noirs (32%), and Meuniers (20%), mainly from the Grands Crus and Premiers Crus of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Each grape variety brings its own dimension to the wine: the freshness and elegance of Chardonnay, the structure of Pinot Noir, and the roundness of Meunier.
The 2016 vintage is marked by contrasting climatic conditions, with a cool and wet spring followed by a hot and dry summer. These extremes affected the growth of the vines but also contributed to creating wines of great expressiveness and beautiful aromatic concentration.
This cuvée was vinified and aged in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, preserving the freshness and crispness of the fruity aromas. Malolactic fermentation is carried out to soften the acidity, thus offering a creamier and more harmonious profile. Aging the bottles in the cellars of Ruinart champagne for at least 6 years allows the development of complex and subtle notes. This development is achieved thanks to optimal contact with the fine lees provided by the elongated position of the bottle. A precise dosage of 5g/L perfectly balances the flavors, highlighting the aromatic complexity without dominating the natural freshness of the wine.
To the eye, the Ruinart 2016 Vintage presents a golden robe with slight coppery reflections, a sign of its maturity and aromatic richness.
On the nose, this cuvée first reveals aromas of well-ripened yellow fruits such as peach and apricot, followed by exotic notes. After a few minutes of opening, more complex touches of biscuits, cereals, and dried fruits emerge, evolving towards a saline minerality, bringing freshness and depth.
On the palate, the Ruinart 2016 Vintage Champagne is both round and lively. The aromas of ripe fruits blend with zesty notes, creating a harmonious and persistent tasting experience. The finish is marked by a persistent freshness, typical of Chardonnay, inviting you to savor each sip.
The price of the bottle of Ruinart 2016 Vintage Champagne is 92,95 €. This price is justified by the quality of this champagne, made with grapes from Grands and Premiers Crus. The Ruinart 2016 Vintage is a perfect option for those seeking a very high-quality champagne.
The reviews of the Ruinart 2016 Vintage are unanimously positive. Champagne enthusiasts praise its aromatic complexity and perfect balance between roundness and freshness. The notes of exotic fruits and the zesty finish seduce the most demanding palates, making it an ideal choice for grand occasions and moments of refined tasting. To store the Ruinart 2016 Vintage Champagne in the best conditions, it is essential to keep it in a cool, dark, and vibration-free place, at a constant temperature between 10 and 12°C. This champagne can improve with time, thanks to its balance between acidity and fruitiness, allowing it to develop even more complex and refined aromas over the years.
The style of Ruinart champagne is renowned for its elegance and aromatic purity. Chardonnay is, moreover, the flagship grape variety of the brand. It is particularly highlighted in the famous cuvée Blanc de Blancs. Under the direction of Frédéric Panaïotis, cellar master, each cuvée is crafted with meticulous attention to detail.
