      Description

Cuvée Dom Ruinart 2004 is a champagne that combines mineral notes with biscuity, gourmet touches.

The 2004 vintage in Champagne is in line with the trend observed over the last ten years in the region. It was a rather hot and dry year, offering ideal conditions, with a dream month of September (+2°C and +20% sunshine compared with the average, with 80% less rain) that enabled a perfect harvest.

The Dom Ruinart cuvée is made exclusively from Chardonnays from Grands Crus. 69% come from the Côte des Blancs (predominantly Chouilly, Le Mesnil and Avize), providing freshness and minerality. The remaining 31% are harvested on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims (predominantly Sillery and Puisieulx) and add a touch of gourmandise.

Dom Ruinart 2004 is vinified in stainless steel vats, with malolactic fermentation to round out its aromas, and an Extra Brut dosage of 5.5g/L.

Cuvée Dom Ruinart 2004 has a luminous yellow color with pale green highlights, typical of Blanc de Blancs champagnes.

On the nose, sweet notes of chestnut, coconut and fresh bread emerge. On the second nose, these notes give way to floral (iris, lily of the valley, sour orange) and citrus (bergamot, citron) aromas.

The nose is carried by a touch of minerality and iodine.

On the palate, Dom Ruinart 2004 offers a clean attack, carried by mineral notes.

This is a silky, airy, extremely elegant champagne.

The long, vibrant finish evokes grapefruit and kumquat rind, followed by a slight saline perception.
