Roederer's Blanc de Blancs 2006 is a cuvée of astonishing finesse and elegance.
2006 was a hot year, marked by a succession of contrasting climatic episodes. The end of August and the beginning of September were warm, allowing the vines to ripen and produce rich grapes.
Blanc de Blancs 2006 is a cuvée with an assertive style, harmonious, vinous and subtle.
Made from Chardonnay grapes, 15-20% of which are vinified in oak foudres, this vintage Blanc de Blancs develops roundness and complexity.
This cuvée has a golden color with light green highlights. Its effervescence is fine and dynamic.
Roederer Blanc de Blancs 2006 opens with elegant notes of acacia, fresh, slightly acidic citrus fruit and discreet hints of vanilla and spices.
On the second nose, nuances of white chocolate appear, enriching this subtle, complex nose.
On the palate, this is a suave, slender champagne, with lightly honeyed floral notes, aromas of white fruit (apple, pear), dried fruit (almond) and the great minerality, almost chalky, of the Côte des Blancs.
Blanc de Blancs 2006 has a powdery texture enhanced by the soft, enveloping effervescence.
The finish is long, fresh and elegant.
