Pol Roger Chardonnay Vintage 2004 is a supremely elegant champagne, which offers a complex palette of aromas with yellow fruits and citrus.
2004 was a year that, although it began with snow, was finally blessed with clement weather. The relatively humid summer was followed by a superb Indian summer in the month of September allowing the grapes to develop with perfect balance between acidity and richness.
Pol Roger make champagne exclusively from Chardonnay from the Grand Cru terroirs of the famous Côte des Blancs : Oiry, Chouilly, Cramant, Avize and Oger.
The Chardonnay Vintage 2004 is vinified in stainless steel vats to conserve all its fresh vivacity, with malolactic fermentation as for all the champagnes of this House to smooth and mellow its aromas.
It is a bright golden champagne of great elegance, with fine, regular effervescence, revealing fresh buttery notes, yellow fruits, citrus and white flowers, followed after a moments airing by more toasted notes and a touch of brioche.
Taut and clean on the attack, Chardonnay Vintage 2004 is fresh, complex and perfectly balanced, with the palate mirroring the same fruit notes found on the nose, finishing with great generosity on notes of brioche and a hint of candied peel.
