The 2002 Brut Vintage is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay from twenty Grand and Premier Cru vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, the Vallée de la Marne and the Cote des Blancs.
The year 2002 was marked by a gentle heat and uniform climate. The harvest takes place under a sunny and dry weather that promotes the quality of grapes.
The vintage 2002 is undoubtedly the finest of the decade.
The musts underwent two cold settlings before fermentation in stainless steel to preserve the fruity characteristics of the wine.
This technique is the specificity of the Maison, as wood is more commonly used in champagne making process. The wine is then blended and transferred to bottle for its second fermentation, and aging for 9 years in Pol Roger cellars, the deepest in Epernay.
The 2002 Brut Vintage has an intense gold color with persistent fine mousse.
The nose opens with gourmet notes of honey, grapefruit and lime.
The mouth is full and fresh with fruity aromas.
The Brut Vintage 2002 Pol Roger is an elegant and pure champagne.
