      Description

Maison Philipponnat's Magnum de Grand Blanc 2014 en étui is a tribute to Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from the finest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs. This exceptional champagne, vinified with precision, reveals a subtle balance between freshness, minerality and aromatic depth. Aged between six and eight years, it reaches its full potential, offering remarkable complexity and an elegant finish.

      Making Champagne Grand Blanc 2014

Cuvée Grand Blanc 2014 is a blend of 100% Chardonnay, exclusively from Premiers and Grands Crus of the Côte des Blancs. Maison Philipponnat, renowned for its expertise with Pinot Noir, has created a refined interpretation of the Chardonnay grape.

Vinification follows a traditional approach, preserving the best expression of the terroir. Partial malolactic fermentation is carried out for tank wines, to preserve freshness, while barrel wines undergo no malolactic fermentation, to bring structure and complexity. Champagne is then aged for six to eight years on its lees, allowing secondary and tertiary aromas to develop. Finally, its extra-brut dosage (4.25 g/L) ensures remarkable purity and precision, sublimating the natural elegance of Chardonnay.

      The 2014 vintage

The 2014 vintage was marked by contrasting weather conditions: a dry, sunny spring favored early budburst, followed by a cool, rainy summer. Thanks to meticulous sorting of the bunches during the harvest (from September 13 to 25), the grapes harvested were of excellent sanitary quality. This vintage offers a perfect balance between acidity and aromatic concentration, with excellent ageing potential.

      The advantages of magnum

The magnum format offers an incomparable tasting experience. Thanks to a lower air/liquid ratio than a classic bottle, the wine evolves more slowly, developing more complex aromas and a silkier texture. This prestigious format also ensures optimal conservation, ideal for extended cellaring of over ten years. Finally, with a capacity of 1.5 L, a magnum of champagne is the perfect choice for celebrating special occasions. It serves around twelve flutes and adds a spectacular touch.

Price of Champagne Grand Blanc 2014 in magnum

The price of Champagne Philipponnat Grand Blanc 2014 Magnum in a case is 169,95 €. This prestigious format sublimates the aging of the wine and magnifies the tasting experience.
