      Description

Cuvée 1522 Rosé Premier Cru 2007 symbolizes the very best of Philipponnat's savoir-faire. This champagne pays tribute to the year 1522, when the Philipponnat family settled in the village of Aÿ. This terroir is of course the main component of the blend, with 70% Pinot Noir from the Léon d'Ay vineyard and 30% Chardonnay from Mesnil/Oger, plus 8% red Pinot Noir from the house's Mareuil-sur-Ay vineyard.
This cuvée is partially vinified in wood without malolactic fermentation, which preserves complexity and freshness.
The rosé color is obtained by adding Pinot Noir. The dosage is very low, around 4.25 g/l.
The first nose reveals an expressive, open Champagne, with gourmet notes of red and black fruit. On the second nose, a spicier touch evokes Espelette pepper, with hints of Kirsch brandy and stone fruit aromas.

On the palate, this is a refined, delicate cuvée. Fruity notes of peach, strawberries in syrup, and a hint of cream. The finish is full and fresh, typical of the vintage.

A perfect accompaniment to lamb, it can also be served with strawberries for dessert.
