      Description

The 1522 2018 vintage from Philipponnat champagne is certainly the cuvée that best symbolizes the Philipponnat style. With a full structure, remarkable freshness, and spicy notes, it is an ideal cuvée for a dinner aperitif or to accompany beautiful dishes.

The Making of Philipponnat 1522 2018 Champagne

The 1522 2018 cuvée is composed of 69% Pinot Noir, mainly from the historic plot of "Le Léon" in Ay and Verzy, and 31% Chardonnay, from the vineyard of Mesnil-sur-Oger. These grapes, exclusively from Grand Crus, guarantee exceptional quality.

Part of the wines is vinified in wood and does not undergo malolactic fermentation, which preserves the natural freshness while adding complexity. This cuvée is dosed as extra-brut, with only 4.25 g/L of sugar. After five years of aging in the cellar, the champagne reveals a perfect harmony between freshness and maturity.

      The 2018 Vintage

The year 2018 offered ideal climatic conditions for Champagne. After a rainy spring, the hot and dry summer allowed optimal ripening of the grapes. This vintage is distinguished by rich and balanced Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays marked by vibrant freshness and mineral notes.
