Perrier-Jouët's Belle Époque 2011 is a cuvée of delicacy and finesse.
The 2011 vintage was marked by a cold winter and a summery spring, resulting in early flowering. As a result, harvesting began at the end of August, 2 to 3 weeks earlier than usual.
Hervé Deschamps, Perrier-Jouët's cellar master, was seduced by the floral touch of this vintage and decided to create a Belle Epoque 2011. He chose to blend 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir and 5% Pinot Meunier.
This champagne is vinified in vats, then aged in the house cellars before being blended as a Brut (9g/l).
This cuvée is pale gold in color, with hints of green. Its bubbles are incredibly fine.
On the first nose, Belle Epoque 2011 offers delicate notes of acacia and lime blossom. Then, on the second nose, more intense hints of honey, dried fruit and white fruit appear.
On the palate, Cuvée Belle Epoque 2011 Perrier-Jouët begins with a round, full attack, then reveals no great mineral freshness, supporting fine fruity notes.
A wonderful cuvée to enjoy as an aperitif, but also to accompany white fish in sauce, or shellfish.
